You have just absorb this collaboration between Minsarah and the peerless Lee Konitz. Savour it. Appreciate it. Save it to your device. Jazz at its intimate best. Thankfully they recorded original material (Deep Lee, ENJA Records). Also a live set at the Village Vanguard as Konitz’s New Quartet, also ENJA). Few modern pianists are as good at constructing an improvisation over a standard as Florian Weber (Jeff Denson, bs; Ziv Ravitz, d). Konitz’ career long humour on evidence. And his audience participation. I suspect this is the kind of intimate ambience Tristano sought but couldn’t find in the Manhattan club scene.
